Neutral tones

Burberry, Balmain, Tom Ford and Max Mara all kept their latest collections on the beige side this year. Vogue predicts that this will have an impact on the colours we’ll all be wearing next year, with tonal dressing and outfits comprising of a single shade set to be huge on the high street.

We’re all about the beige, so we ensure our best-selling cotton labels come in a gorgeous natural ecru colour to blend right into neutral colour palettes.

Wabi-sabi

If you work with unpredictable ceramics or bespoke fabrics, you’ll know that it’s impossible to create products that are exactly identical every time. So you’ll be delighted to hear the Japanese concept of ‘wabi-sabi’ is going to takeover next year, matching consumer appetite for products that are truly one of a kind.

From fashion to interiors, designers are pulling the plug on perfect and are instead going for a more natural, human feel to their work – imperfections and all.

Want to take your brand to the next level in 2019? Snaps from your customers (or ‘user generated content’ as the fancy folks call it) is set to be a big trend next year.

Asking customers for photos of them with your products not only helps you to keep your social media on point, but is also a nifty way to get positive reviews. You know what they say – a picture says a thousand words. That explains why our #ShareYourLabel campaign is still going strong.

Sensory materials

If you’re working on your latest collection, make sure you’ve stocked up on all things plushy, fluffy and textured. Hyper-tactile materials are experiencing a surge in popularity which will continue into 2019.

It’s predicted that we’ll see a lot of velvet, tweed, wool and heavy upholstery in both fashion and interior design. This isn’t surprising as mixing textures is a surefire way to create a bold aesthetic when working with the aforementioned neutral tones. We love it when a trend report comes together.
